Freemasons Make Generous Donation to Residential Home

The Manx Freemasons have donated £4,500 to a care home in Douglas.

Thelma Lomax MBE received the cheque on behalf of Ellan Vannin Home.

She says that the money will fund four hospital beds which will make a ‘huge difference’ to the resident’s quality of life.

Ellan Vannin Home is a registered Manx Charity and receives no government funding.

Freemasons Purpose

The values of Freemasonry are based on integrity, friendship, respect and charity.

Freemasons are taught to practice charity and to care, not only for their own, but also for the community as a whole – both by charitable giving, and by voluntary efforts and works as individuals.

From its earliest days, Freemasonry has been concerned with the care of orphans, the sick and the aged.

This work continues today and it gives large sums to international, national and local charities.
