A man charged with manslaughter has been committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
John Meadows, 53, from Liverpool, appeared via video link at Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday morning.
He is accused of causing the death of his partner 57-year-old Gillian Hughes, outside the Palace Hotel on Douglas Promenade on Good Friday (March 29).
No plea has been entered and Meadows remains on remand at the Isle of Man Prison.
No date has yet been set for his first appearance before the higher court.
