A court has heard that a man chucked a wrap of heroin out the window of his flat during a police search.
Brian Wootton, 46, of Douglas, admitted being in possession of the drug when he appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood.
The court heard that the Police executed a search of Wotton’s home on April 15, when he panicked and chucked the drug out the window into a courtyard below.
Officers later found 1,09g of the drug, said to have a street value of £109.
Duty advocate Steve Wood said his client had received “an unwelcome surprise” when the Police arrived and he panicked.
He added that Wotton does not have a problem with drugs.
Ms Braidwood fined Wootton £500 and ordered him to pay costs of £125.
