Sure Powers The Tech for MGP

Sure is driving the technology at the Manx Grand Prix races as the Official Telecommunications partner.

Officials, teams, spectators and fans will benefit from the free WiFi provided by Sure throughout the Grandstand and Paddock area, as well as scoreboard timing screens and the Media Centre.

Sure’s expertise is also vital for the safety measures around the course to protect the riders, as its connectivity powers the Race Control systems in the Grandstand building.

Sure’s Network

Mike Phillips, Sure Isle of Man Chief Executive, said: “We love being involved in these iconic races that celebrate the spirit and passion of the Isle of Man, bringing together residents and visitors alike in the community we proudly serve.

“As a local telecoms provider, we understand the vital role that staying connected plays in today’s world, especially during large-scale events like these that attract global attention.”

Sure’s network and advanced solutions will also be supporting the digital flag system around the course and the GPS devices on competing machines as additional safety measures to protect the riders.

The GPS is powered by Sure 4G SIMs, delivering real-time data from any point around the course, while the 4G-powered digital flag warning system provides a failsafe for Race Control to be able to call a halt to the races at the push of a button.
