Jade ‘The Grenade’ Burden’s second professional fight has been called off due to reasons beyond her control.
The boxer took to social media to explain her disappointment, and through no lack of trying, can’t find another opponent.
She was scheduled to fight Kerry Orton on Saturday (September 7) night, but sadly Kerry’s father has fallen ill.
No Fight
Jade’s manager and the promoter of the fight had another lined up another competitor, who then failed to submit the paperwork on time.
They then potentially had another opponent who they had offered £3000 for four rounds with, but she did not want the fight as she was committed to boxing a week later.
Jade said: “As you can all imagine my head is up my ass as I’ve been in camp for 8 weeks which is also a big financial commitment.
“Anyone who would still like to attend the boxing this weekend please do. But those who would like a refund I will issue back in cash at the boxing club.”
She thanked everyone for the support on her journey, and says “without it I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing”.
