The owners of the landmark former Groudle Glen Hotel have submitted plans to build a new home adjacent to it.
Annan Kawalek’s application would see a single storey flat roof section of the western side of building demolished and replaced by a new home.
The proposed house is designed to be sympathetic to the style of other adjacent dwelling situated on the east side of the former Groudle Hotel and a roof terrace serving the proposed dwelling looking over the Glen, will serve as amenity space.
The plans will not impact on the trees in the glen and they would be would protected if any work is required in the glen during construction.
Having gone the way of many country pubs and closing, there have been several attempts to find a new purpose for it, including at one point permission being sought to convert it into six flats.
