The government is to seek a conciliation meeting with unions after members rejected a pay offer.
Unite and Prospect members voted to reject the Public Services Commission’s three year pay offer.
That offer, which extends to members of Tynwald, included a 4% pay rise for 2024/24 with lower increases for the next two years with conditions attached based around inflation.
A spokesperson for the PSC said: “The Public Services Commission has approached the Manx Industrial Relations Service which will now facilitate a conciliation meeting during November.”

The details of the three-year deal offered by the PSC is as follows:
2024/25 4%
2025/26 2.5% *
2026/27 2.0% **
* with the caveat that should March 2025 CPI be 1% higher or lower than 2.5%, the offer of 2.5% becomes void and we would re-open negotiations for that year.

In addition, the Commission would from 1 April 2025, harmonise the annual leave entitlement for all PSC staff who have accrued 10 years’ service therefore, the annual leave entitlement for staff who accrue 10 years of service will increase from 28 days to 30 days per year.
