Tractor Runs Raise Thousands

This year’s Young Farmers tractor runs have raised over £17,300 for two island charities.

Over 75 tractors battled wind and rain over two, albeit weather delayed, nights covering 60 miles around the island.

The tremendous community event saw thousands of people come out to support the runs around the south and north of the island.

So far, over £17,300 has been raised for The Children’s Centre and The Great North Air Ambulance Service and with donors still adding to a Crowdfunding page, that total will only rise.

Isle of Man Young Farmers said: “We’re totally overwhelmed by the amount we have raised so far this year and the amazing support received.

“The sheer number of people who gave their time to watch, cheer, donate, police, organise, decorate, drive and volunteer has been breathtaking and we cannot thank you all enough!

“It’s times like these that make you appreciate our wonderful island, its community and our fabulous farming family, particularly in the weather conditions that were thrown at us!

“Thank you for braving the wind and rain to come and support us”

You can still donate to the fundraiser here.
