Residents of the island are being reminded to make sure that their current details appear on the electoral register in order to vote.
The register is a list of people who are eligible to vote in elections and registration is required even if you don’t want to vote or run for election.
Local authority general elections will be held on April 24 and eligible residents who want to vote need to register and ensure their current details are on the electoral register by March 25.
Prospective election candidates need to register and update their information by February 24.
A notice of election will be issued for the Island’s 21 local authorities on March 13.

It only takes a minute to register or to update details online at services.gov.im/electoral-register.
Updates can also be emailed to elections@gov.im. For additional support or to request a paper registration form, email elections@gov.im or call the Cabinet Office Electoral Registration Unit on 685754.
Residents who have lived on the island for at least a year, are aged 16 or over and are not subject to any legal incapacity to vote, need to register.
Updates include a new address or a change of name.
Everyone registering is asked to consider providing an email address to streamline communication with the Electoral Registration Unit.
