An investigation is underway after Manx Care accused an MHK of making a “sweeping and factually incorrect” statement in Tynwald.
Earlier this week it claimed Julie Edge’s comments had led to patient anxiety about staffing levels.
The health body has now apologised to Ms Edge for its statement.
A spokesperson said: “On February 19, Manx Care issued a statement responding to a number of concerns raised by Ms Julie Edge MHK during the Tynwald sitting the previous day.
“Manx Care apologises for any direct comments made about Ms Edge MHK in this statement and can confirm the matter is under investigation.”
Health Minister Claire Christian has also told Manx Radio that she has referred the matter to the government’s CEO.
