The conversion of 1886 to a Wetherspoon took a big step this weekend with some staff heading off for training.
Staff have headed to Blackpool for training ahead of the opening of the ‘Conister Arms’ (still not sure about that name) on May 14.
As well as offering all current staff new jobs post the changeover, the company has said it wants to hire more staff.
The pub will have a capacity of 725.
While no date has been confirmed for when 1886 will shut ahead of the change, this past weekend saw the bar serve its own food for the final time.
