A series of weekday daytime road closures will be in place on the Castletown to Douglas road from Tuesday.
The work is to install new centre-line reflective road studs.
Carried out by Manx Rock Ltd on behalf of the DoI, the closures will take place between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm.
The project will be completed in four stages, with the first closure on May 6 between the new Glashen Hill roundabout and the Orrisdale Road junction.
Subsequent phases will cover:
- Stage 2: Blackboards to Oatlands Road junction
- Stage 3: Oatlands Road to Mount Murray
- Stage 4: Mount Murray to Fort North Roundabout (Cooil Road junction)
Cats Eyes
As part of the works, Manx Rock Ltd will also remove redundant cat’s eyes, many of which are broken or compressed into the road surface.
Access for residents within the closed sections will be maintained, and scheduled bus services will be permitted through the works, but general through traffic will be diverted.
Diversion routes include the St Marks Road, which will remain open throughout, and the Old Castletown Road, available during stages 2 to 4.
All works are scheduled to finish by Friday May 16.
