The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa will close at 7pm and remain closed until the completion of racing on Tuesday.
Strong winds are set to batter the island tonight, with the Met Office forecasting gale-force gusts and unseasonably wet conditions from 9pm.
Government departments, including Infrastructure (DOI), Home Affairs, and Enterprise, are working with campsite providers on contingency plans. A spokesperson said: “Support overnight will be provided by the Isle of Man Civil Defence Corps.” Disrupted travellers can use the Sea Terminal building for shelter.
Racing Preparations Underway
The DOI confirmed the closure will allow race organisers to “carry out course inspections to ensure roads are suitable for racing.”
Public Safety Advice
Campers are urged to “secure all tents, awnings, bikes, and personal belongings.”
Accommodation providers should “check and secure sites,” while residents must “secure garden furniture and bins.”
