Supporters of the Curraghs Wildlife Park have provided two mobility scooters to enable visitors with mobility challenges to explore the Wildlife Park.
The brightly colours scooters were funded with a grant from the Manx Lottery Trust Community Fund and supplied by Kissack Care Ltd.
Visitors can now pre-book the scooters but the increase in the number available means that anyone needing to use one should be able to do so, free of charge.
New Scooters
Kim Etherton, Chair of SCWP, said: “Staff at the Curraghs Wildlife Park asked if we could help to supply some new scooters, to replace an ageing one and to increase the number available.
“We are delighted to have been able to do this and thank Manx Lottery Trust for their help. We know that people with mobility challenges love coming to the Wildlife Park and that the scooters will be well used.”
Kathleen Graham, General Manager, Curraghs Wildlife Park said: “Getting out and about in nature is known to benefit health and well-being but can be a challenge for those who cannot easily walk.
“Our scooters enable people to explore the site, observe our wonderful animals and enjoy refreshments in the café. We are very grateful to SCWP for helping us to expand this valued service for our visitors.”
