The Isle of Man hosted the Inter-Island Environment Meeting for the first time in celebration of its 25th anniversary.
The IIEM brings together environmentalists, conservationists, and environmentally-minded organisations and businesses from the UK Crown Dependencies and other British Islands and Ireland.
Representatives from the Isle of Man were able to showcase the Isle of Man as a UNESCO Biosphere, and the work of Manx Wildlife Trust, DEFA, and the other environmental organisations.
Governor in Attendance
As patrons of Manx Wildlife Trust Sir John and Lady Lorimer were delighted to host a reception of Government House for the delegates of the IIEM last week.
Government House said: “It was a great opportunity for delegates to network and share ideas, whilst listening to the wonderfully talented Manx music group, Scran!
“It was fascinating to hear how environmental organisations can collaborate and build partnerships with corporate businesses, to benefit biodiversity, reduce climate change, and enable businesses to engage their staff in environmental issues, both locally and globally.
“We hope the delegates enjoyed their visit to our beautiful island and look forward to next year’s IIEM!”
