Foxdale AFC has announced the passing of its Club President, Paul Lemaire, who the club described as a legendary figure within the community.
Mr Lemaire was deeply influential in the club’s resurgence during the 1990s and became a “grandfather figure to the players, the club, and the village at large”.
The club said: “Whether you’d spot him watching every game at Billy Goat Park, sharing a drink down the Baltic with friends, or manning the Foxdale Heritage Centre, Paul will always be remembered as a local icon whose pride in our village was unmatched.
“The word ‘legend’ is often thrown around but there is no doubt that Paul will forever be a Foxdale Legend and will never be forgotten.”
