A yellow weather warning had been issued for heavy rain this weekend.
The weather warning comes into place at 1am on Sunday (October 19) and will stay in place until 2pm.
An area of rain will move in from the west overnight into Sunday, turning persistent and heavy at times before clearing through on Sunday afternoon.
Accumulations of 15-25 mm are expected in most places although higher ground could see up to 25-50 mm.
This may lead to surface water flooding in prone locations, especially where drains are blocked from fallen leaves.
