Trainee Police Constables have successfully completed a 40-mile charity kayak, raising over £1,200 for the RNLI.
They chose to kayak 40 miles to represent the number of shouts the island’s RNLI volunteers responded to in 2024.
The team finished their challenge at 3pm on Saturday afternoon after nearly seven hours on the water.
Using two kayaks at a time and rotating throughout the day, the group collectively paddled the symbolic distance.
The funds raised will help the RNLI continue their life-saving work.
In a social media post, the Constabulary said: “A huge well done to our Trainee Police Constables for taking on this amazing challenge.”
“Thank you to everyone who managed to spare some pennies to sponsor the team! It is very appreciated by all.”
