The DoI has named the Island’s most and least punctual bus routes.
Answering a question from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse, Minister Dr Michelle Haywood confirmed the five highest-performing services were all Ramsey-based rural routes.
Those routes, based on data from June to September 2025, were the 16d, 16, 18a, 19, and 20.
Dr Haywood said: “These routes showed strong punctuality due to infrequent service patterns, shorter route lengths, and coverage of rural areas, which typically experience lower traffic volumes and fewer disruptions.”
In contrast, the least punctual routes were the 11arm, 11, 12a, 22h, and 3. These services primarily connect Douglas with the south and Onchan.
Dr Haywood attributed their performance to “high traffic volumes, increased passenger numbers during peak travel times, ongoing roadworks, and congestion caused by vehicles in residential estates such as Willaston”.
