Motorists are being warned of delays on the Douglas to Ramsey Coast Road in Laxey due to essential works by Manx Utilities.
The MUA is replacing power poles on Ramsey Road, with traffic flow managed under temporary traffic lights.
The situation was compounded during Wednesday’s morning rush hour, with increased traffic due to the temporary closure of the Mountain Road.
To ease evening travel, crews aim to remove the lights before the peak period. However, as the work requires a power outage, any unforeseen delays would mean the lights must stay until power is restored to local homes.
On Thursday, temporary traffic lights will not be deployed until after the morning rush hour has eased.
