Applications Open For Tynwald Internship

Applications are now open for the 2026/27 Parliamentary Internship, a paid year long placement at the heart of Tynwald.

The internship, established in 2014, runs from October 2026 to September 2027 and gives the successful candidate exposure to the full range of work carried out by a modern legislature.

Former interns have gone on to roles in other parliaments, the civil service and the legal sector.

The intern will be based in the Research and Scrutiny Support team, contributing directly to Tynwald’s parliamentary functions, including committee work, parliamentary research and chamber support.

The role also involves supporting Members and Committees as they scrutinise government activity, with opportunities to work across the wider Office of the Clerk of Tynwald.

Blog posts from previous interns, offering insight into the role, are available on the Tynwald website.

Applications close at midnight on Wednesday, July 8. Applicants should send a completed application form and CV to enquiries@tynwald.org.im. Further information and the application form can be found at the Tynwald recruitment page.

Clerk of Tynwald Jonathan King encouraged prospective applicants to apply, saying many former interns had used the experience as a springboard for their careers.
