Education Minister Daphne Caine has announced her intention to seek re-election.
She will seek a third term representing Garff at this summer’s general election.
Mrs Caine said: “Working for the people of Garff and the wider island community as MHK over the past 10 years has been the greatest honour of my life and I am pleased to confirm my intention to stand again for Garff in the General Election on 24 September 2026.
“My focus continues to be on education, health and housing as these are fundamental to the quality of life for everyone. Other priorities include our economy, environment, heritage and culture.
“I feel so blessed to live on this beautiful, unique island and if re-elected I will channel my energy and experience and work to reduce inequalities and bring positive change.”
Anthony Allen and Seán Boström have previously announced their intention to stand in the constituency. Sitting MHK Andrew Smith has not yet declared his intention.
