Students at Queen Elizabeth II High School who choose to wear a skirt are being told tights must still be worn, even as temperatures rise.
Parents have told Manx.News they’ve raised concerns with QEII over uniform rules and hot‑weather arrangements, after a series of messages were issued to families this week.
The school confirmed to parents that under the current uniform policy pupils must wear tights if wearing a skirt and not socks.
It said that pupils must still attend in full uniform but are not required to wear jumpers or blazers during the school day.
The school said it is monitoring classroom temperatures and will adjust arrangements if any areas become too warm. Water refill stations are available on site, and parents are being urged to ensure children arrive with a refillable bottle and sun cream already applied.
The School Association has donated ice pops, which will be handed out free of charge during tomorrow’s morning break.
Manx.News understands that Castle Rushen High School has allowed pupils to wear their PE kit for the remainder of the week.
