Manx culture will take centre stage next week as musicians, dancers, artists, filmmakers and cultural ambassadors represent the Isle of Man at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, the world’s largest celebration of Celtic culture.
Held in Brittany from July 31 to August 9, the festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors and more than 5,000 performers.
The Isle of Man has been involved for over 40 years, showcasing Manx music, dance, language and traditions.
This year’s line‑up includes Mec Lir, Neear Nesañ, An Corran, Çheumooie, traditional musicians Beccy Hurst and Alasdair Paul, and dance group Ny Manninee. Young musicians Arabella Ayen and Jack McLean will also take part in the Interceltic Music Project residency.
Artist Lisa Lennon will feature in the Euroceltic Art Exhibition, while two Manx short films, Yn Shenn Dooinney as ny Ferrishyn and Yn Arbyl, will be screened as part of CinéFIL, both supported by Culture Vannin for Blein ny Gaelgey 2026.
