The Great North Air Ambulance Service has launched its annual raffle, offering a £10,000 top prize while appealing for support from Isle of Man residents who rely on the charity’s critical care teams.
GNAAS responds to the most serious emergencies across the North of England and the Isle of Man, and is currently fundraising for Operation SOS, its major appeal to replace an ageing helicopter fleet.
The charity plans to invest in three new aircraft, but still needs £2.5 million to secure the deposit for the third.
The first‑place prize, donated by AAA Roofing, is one of the largest offered by any UK air ambulance raffle. Additional prizes of £2,000, £1,000 and £500 are also available. Tickets cost £1.
Chief executive Joe Garcia MBE said buying a ticket directly supports the future of a service that has responded to nearly 30,000 incidents since 2002, including many involving Isle of Man patients who require advanced treatment before transfer.
