The Department of Infrastructure is seeking planning permission to refurbish the roof of the Sea Terminal.
It wants to put insulation into the “Crow’s Nest” at the top and change the decorative panels to include a rainscreen system.
The windows would also be replaced but a new colour has not been chosen.
It also has plans to put a new flat roof on the northern arm of the building, which would also be insulated.
