Landmarks to Light up For Air Ambulance Week

Landmarks across the Isle of Man will be illuminated green next week as part of Air Ambulance Week 2026.

Air Ambulance Week runs September 7 to 13 and is organised by Air Ambulances UK, highlighting the role air ambulance crews play in delivering emergency care directly to patients.

This year’s theme, ‘Every Mission Starts With You’, recognises donors, fundraisers and volunteers who make each mission possible.

GNAAS has arranged for monuments and buildings across its operating region to light up green. On the island, the Ramsey Bridge, Tower of Refuge, Douglas city centre, promenade and city hall will all take part.

Tesco supermarkets on the Isle of Man will also fundraise throughout the week, with other businesses encouraged to join in.

GNAAS chief executive Joe Garcia MBE said the illuminations will be a “visible show of support” for crews and a reminder of the generosity that keeps the service running.

“Each illumination helps shine a light on the extraordinary generosity of the communities that keep our helicopters flying and our critical care teams responding to people when they need us most,” he said.
