National Championships to Visit Island Again

The TLI National Cycling Championships will again be hosted in the Isle of Man, after making its maiden appearance here in 2022.

Taking place this weekend (September 12-13), the event features an individual time trial, a road race and a town centre criterium, with the famous tricolour jersey being awarded for age-group champions from youth through to 70+.

The championships have amassed more than 150 entries, including former British National Junior Champion Zac Walker, and recent U-14 British National Circuit Series winner Tommy Bass.

Max Walker, a Manx professional cyclist, won the road race title the last time the championships were hosted here, and said: “It’s a proper championship, but it’s also a place where riders of every age and every level get a real race, and for some of them it’ll be the start of something.

“This July I rode my first Tour de France with EF Education-Easypost, and the road that took me there came via TLI.”
