14-year-old Tommy Bass’ overall triumph in the 2026 British Cycling National Youth Circuit Series headlines an impressive campaign for Team RL360 Isle of Man.
Dot Tilbury’s ever-successful youth cycling team enjoyed five top-20 results in the overall standings, across all age groups of the season-long competition.
The series has historically produced the likes of local heroes Pete Kennaugh, Mark Cavendish and Max Walker.
Bass Shines Bright
The pick of the bunch is undoubtedly the exceptionally talented Tommy Bass, whose utterly dominant season saw him scoop overall honours in the under-14 open category with a tally of 138 points.
The youngster accrued a string of high profile domestic results, including overall victory at the Isle of Man Youth Tour and Youth Tour of Kent, the points classification in the Youth Tour of Scotland and podium places at Wyke National Youth Circuit Series and Hog Hill GP.
He also scored success on the continent, taking a stage win and a further overall win at the Youth Tour of Assen in the Netherlands.
Ciaran Grimshaw was another local participant in the class, claiming 16th with 53 points.
Clayton Clinches Podium
A stellar ride in the final round of the under-14 girls championship saw the improving Poppy Clayton score a strong 2nd place in the Wyke National Youth Circuit Series, and surge to 3rd on the series podium. Her 114 point haul was enough to sneak onto the rostrum by just two points.
A flurry of further top-10 results across the series, as well as wins in the North West Youth League, underlined a breakout season for Clayton on the regional and national scene.
Elsewhere, Isabella Quaye’s 14 points were enough to secure her 28th place in the same category.
Minay Makes Top 5
The under-16 open category has been a happy hunting ground for Manx riders in years gone by, with a host of local talent achieving eye-catching results across bygone series.
Daniel Minay has added his name to that list this term, bagging an admirable 4th place overall after a campaign littered with strong showings.
Stage victories at the Isle of Man Youth Tour and Youth Tour of Scotland helped the youngster on his way to an impressive 78 point total, as he moves on to the Junior ranks in 2027.
Thomas Hutchinson also competed in the class, finishing 13th while accumulating 58 points.
