Police Urge Anonymous Facebook Poster to Get in Touch After Ramsey Claims

Police are urging an anonymous Facebook poster to get in touch to back up their claim that someone is “scoping out” places in Ramsey.

A police spokesperson said they had not received any reports, following the post on Facebook, that warned residents in the town to keep their homes locked.

The anonymous user claims an individual had been seen “scoping places out”.

The post advised people to secure doors, windows and garages, and to ensure tradesmen could lock up when homeowners were out.

But Police say they have received no such report of any concerns.

A spokesperson said: “At this time, no reports have been made to the Police in relation to the anonymous post. We encourage the original poster to contact Police Headquarters on 01624 631212 so officers can look into the information properly.”

Separately, police are investigating criminal damage at a home on Brookfield Avenue.

The incident is believed to have happened between 11pm on September 6 and 7am on September 7.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Headquarters on 01624 631212 or email police@gov.im.
