Manx‑based Irish rider Ivan Kelly says he is “absolutely thrilled” after a strong performance with his gelding Viscount at the British National Dressage Championships.
Competing in the HorseQuest Elementary Silver Championship on Thursday (September 10) last week, Kelly and Viscount placed 17th in a high‑quality field.
Kelly said the horse was “bursting out of his skin” and trying hard to be brave, with “super improvements” showing through the exuberance.
He described the outing as a “wonderful learning experience” for both horse and rider, thanking everyone who has supported “team Kevin”, Viscount’s stable name, throughout the season.
Kelly, who lives on the Isle of Man, continues to build his record at national level, with Viscount owned and produced by him.
