Bostock Nominated for National Champions Award

Matt Bostock has been nominated for the British Cycling National Champion of the Year award, after a stunning string of results throughout the 2026 campaign.

Voting has now opened for the award, with the public asked to select their favoured rider by commenting on the Facebook post here, or by submitting a form, which can be filled out here. The winner will be announced at the British Cycling Awards night on November 14.

The Manxman has been nominated for the prestigious honour alongside Erin Boothman, Charlie Aldridge, Tracy Moseley, Jordan Williams and Callum Russell.

A Worthy Winner

Bostock has enjoyed a career-defining season in 2026, scoring success at almost every possible opportunity.

A bronze medal in the team pursuit, along with a fourth in the individual event at the UEC Track Elite European Championships in February was followed up with a delightful double of national championship titles later that month, where he took the elimination and scratch race crowns.

A flying visit to Hong Kong brought with it World Cup success, the Glen Vine man showing his class to take bronze in the omnium.

Switching his focus back to the road, the Manxman took a stunning win in the newly formed City of London Nocturne, before backing it up with a win in the Colne National Circuit Series, before reclaiming his National Criterium Championship crown in June.

Back on the boards, and in Manx colours, the Commonwealth Games loomed. True to form, a breathtaking performance in the 40km points race saw him bag the island’s first gold medal since Mark Cavendish in Melbourne 2006.

Finally, at the recent Tissot UCI Track World Championships, Bocky managed a brace of medals. A bronze in the team pursuit was swiftly backed up by an audacious ride in the scratch race, where the Manxman nearly lapped the field to win solo and take his maiden world title.
