An Onchan Commissioner has apologised to residents after a social media post claimed a request for a bench near its offices had not been dealt with for 18 months.
Vice-Chair Scott Wilson said “there’s no excuse” for the delay and it should have been installed sooner. But he has confirmed with the chief executive that it will be done “very soon”.
The Facebook poster claims to have requested a bench for a grass area by The Hub, as the only other seats are inside the children’s play area which is inaccessible for people with dogs.
Dr Wilson added that a review into the local authority’s stock of benches, the perceived lack of them and where new ones could be situated, would need to take place.
