Manx Care is holding additional Breast Clinics to address outstanding outpatient referrals that have been received in recent weeks.
The current waiting time for initial assessments for patients who have been referred on an Urgent Suspected Cancer Referral is nine weeks, due to workforce vacancies.
Patients who have been affected will be contacted directly by the Patient Information Centre who will offer them a date for their clinic appointment over the next few weeks.
Appointments will be offered based on both clinical priority and date order of referral receipt into Noble’s Hospital.
During this short-term reduction in clinic capacity, Manx Care will seek to commission some short-term capacity in England, to offer women requiring a two-week wait assessment the possibility of having this in England if they wish.
