Aircraft took to field for emergency landing

Earlier today (May 15) fire crews from Castletown and Douglas responded to a light aircraft incident in the area of Grenaby.

Crews were called to Grenaby shortly after 4pm to reports of a downed aircraft that had to emergency land in a field of barely.

The fire crews provided precautionary fire cover and liaised with the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) and say there was no injuries reported.

A witness told Manx.News that they believe the privately owned plane may have been being used for a flight lesson at the time of the emergency landing.

Manx.News have not been able to confirm this at this time.
