Airport Issues Warning Over Flights

Airport chief have warned winds could continue to affect flights for the rest of Sunday.

Passengers have reported of waiting for steps to be brought for planes due to the winds.

With winds affecting Ronaldswsy, easyJet has cancelled the rest of its flights to and from the island for the rest of the day, while the Aer Lingus Dublin inbound flight turned back.

Following the earlier easyJet arrival from Liverpool, passengers reported being stuck onboard due to the winds before they were told the aircraft would be going back to Liverpool with them on it.

The airline itself said: “Due to strong winds at the airport, it’s currently not possible to safely attach ground equipment to the aircraft.”

However, Loganair is so far continuing to operate as scheduled.
