Ronaldsway Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for tomorrow.
Strong easterly winds will combine with the high tide tomorrow (at 12:24pm), resulting in significant overtopping of waves at a few locations around the island.
Debris will be washed ashore.
The whole of Douglas promenade will be particularly susceptible. Laxey and Ramsey promenades and one or two other locations (possibly the western parts of Castletown promenade and Shore Road, Rushen) will also be affected
The tide at its very highest will be close to the top of some of the most prone harbours/quaysides, but no notable flooding is expected in these places.
An amber weather forecast indicates a risk of severe weather impacting on work, schools and travel. Some disruption and damage is likely in places.
It will be in place from 10:30am to 2:30pm on Tuesday.
