Another Record For Christa

Christa Cain has started 2025 the way she finished 2024, by setting another personal best and Isle of Man age group record.

Running in the Victoria Park 10km road race in London on Sunday, Christa finished 2nd out of 227 competitors in the women’s race.

This placed her 7th out of 507 overall and clocking a new personal best time of 36:15.

That beats Sarah Webster’s Isle of Man women’s 35 age group record set in 2017 by one minute and 42 seconds.

Another Record

The women’s race winner was Gemma Kersey who is a very well-known athlete on the UK scene.

Christa’s time was particularly impressive as it came on the back of a high-mileage week ahead of her first Half Marathon of the year this coming weekend.

It has been an interesting few weeks to start 2025 for Christa, as she completed a three-week training block in South Africa before being invited to Liverpool John Moores University to participate in a study being carried out on behalf of Science in Sport to help collect data on female endurance runners.

Christa’s partner Simon Scott also had an excellent run at Victoria Park, clocking a big personal best of 42:43 and he was the leading men’s 55 finisher.
