Police have resolved an issue in Onchan which saw firearm officers deployed to the area.
The incident, at an address around Groudle View, led to it and Groudle Road being closed.
Residents have reported on Facebook that they were unable to leave their own homes for a period.
A Police statement said: “We can confirm Groudle View and Groudle Road in Onchan are now back open to the public following Officers dealing with an isolated incident at an address in this area.
“Specially trained firearms officers were deployed and the incident has been safely resolved. Thank you to the public for their understanding and assistance.”
