Update – Police have resolved an issue in Onchan which saw firearm officers deployed to the area.
Police are dealing with what they say is an isolated incident in the area of Groudle View in Onchan.
As such, there is a temporary road closure of Groudle View and a section of Groudle Road at this time with people asked to avoid the area.
Officers are blocking the entrance to Windermere Avenue, off Windermere Drive, as well as access to Wentworth Close and King Edward Bay Golf Club.
A drone is also currently hovering over the area.
Residents on a community Facebook page have said they have been asked to stay in their homes while others are not currently allowed to return home while others said they have seen armed police in the estate.
