Police have issued a notice to residents in the north of the island not to be alarmed by the sight of armed officers.
The Tactical Firearms Unit is doing some training at Ramsey Grammar School this evening which will involve the use of blank ammunition.
A spokesman said: “This helps our Firearms Officers to be fully prepared for all eventualities and provides invaluable training by the use of new training venues.
“The public in the vicinity should not be concerned, this is only a training exercise.”
