A motorcyclist was followed by a police officer riding at 90mph in a 50mph zone during TT.
Gary Rickwood, 53, of Kirk Michael pleaded guilty by post but will be summoned by the court for his sentencing.
Prosecutor Hazel Caroon said Rickwood was seen by an unmarked police motorbike travelling at speed near Bishopscourt.
The officer followed him through Ballaugh in the direction of the TT course.
Once clear of the village, the officer followed Rickwood and recorded his speed at around 90mph, before he contacted colleagues stationed at Sulby Bridge who ordered him to stop.
Rickwood said in his letter he knew the road was usually derestricted and said he didn’t know it the 50mph TT limit had been imposed.
Magistrates asked for him to be summoned to appear before the court on September 19 for sentencing.
