BSB Racer to Compete for Manx Legend Racing

Manx Legend Racing has announced that experienced rider Joe Francis will join the team for the Thruxton round of the British Superbike Championship.

It will take place from August 8 to 10 2025.

This marks a significant step for the team, which is contesting its first full season in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship with Manx rider Illiam Quayle.

The addition of Francis will be the first time the team has fielded two riders.

Racing

Francis, 27, began his racing career at just ten years old and became British Moto3 champion in 2013. He later competed in British Superbikes with FHO Racing before returning to the Superstock class in 2022.

After an injury-disrupted 2023, he has been racing in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship this year.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back on a British track and lining up in the Pirelli National Superstock class at Thruxton,” said Francis.

“Massive thanks to the team and to Gibbo from Abbi Access for the opportunity to wildcard this round – I’m excited to make the most of it and get stuck in.”

Quayle, 21, son of TT winner Milky Quayle, has been consistently competitive in his debut Superstock season and the team hopes Francis’s experience will aid his development.

“To have a talent like Joe Francis riding for Manx Legend Racing is an honour,” said co-owner Phil Poultney. “All of the experience he has had at a very high level will not only drive the team forward but also help to develop Illiam, pushing him up to the next level.”

The team confirmed further outings for Francis may follow.
