Local businesses are being invited to take part in two major STEM education events during the 2026/27 school year.
STEMFutures, a new event for Year 9 students, will run at QEII High School on October 14 to 15.
Created with input from employers, it aims to bridge the gap between primary‑school STEM engagement and the point where students begin choosing GCSE subjects.
The event will give students direct access to employers, apprenticeship routes and real‑world examples of how STEM links to Island careers.
STEMFest
STEMFest, now in its sixth year, returns to the Villa Marina on February 10 to 11, 2027. The event brings together Year 5 and 6 pupils for hands‑on activities delivered by local businesses. In 2026, students from all 33 primary schools took part for the first time.
Businesses across all sectors are invited to deliver interactive sessions at either event.
Organisers say the activities help students explore science, technology, engineering and maths alongside the creativity and problem‑solving skills used in industry. Those interested in exhibiting can contact stemfest@gov.im.
Both events are organised by Business Isle of Man with support from industry partners, Digital Isle of Man, Finance Isle of Man and DESC.
