A public call for sites has opened as the Cabinet Office begins updating the island’s Unoccupied Urban Sites Register.
The Register tracks brownfield land with redevelopment potential and was first published for Douglas and Onchan in 2020 before expanding island‑wide in 2022.
The new consultation invites landowners, developers and the public to comment on existing entries, suggest new sites and give feedback on the criteria used.
An interactive online map is available for people to mark site boundaries, with text‑based options also provided. Sites on the Register may be considered for support through the Island Infrastructure Scheme.
Minister David Ashford said: “Making better use of previously developed land is an important part of building great communities and supporting sustainable economic growth.
“This consultation is an opportunity for people to help shape the evidence base, suggest sites they believe have redevelopment potential, and ensure the Register remains relevant and effective.”
The consultation runs until June 16, with an updated Register due later this year.
