Bus vannin is showcasing a modern demonstrator vehicle on the island this weekend as part of its work to explore future bus technology.
The Rightech RB6, which is not part of the operational fleet and will not carry passengers, is being used to give staff, transport enthusiasts and the public a closer look at emerging design and engineering developments in the bus industry.
The RB6 appeared at Ramsey Bus Station yesterday, and will join the Douglas bus cavalcade today, and take part in the Jurby Transport Museum running day on Sunday.
Its visit will place the contemporary demonstrator alongside historic vehicles, highlighting how bus design has evolved from early motor buses to modern low‑emission models.
Bus vannin says the purpose of hosting the vehicle is to understand developments in areas such as accessibility, energy efficiency, environmental performance, safety and maintenance, helping the organisation stay informed as the industry continues to change.
The RB6 forms part of a wider weekend celebrating the island’s transport heritage, offering visitors the chance to compare past and present, and see technologies that may shape future public transport on the Isle of Man.
