Junior Achievement Isle of Man has launched a new island‑wide initiative inviting schools, youth groups, community organisations and workplace teams to see how far they can take £50 in seed funding.
The Think Big with £50 Challenge, supported by Zurich, will run from October to December 2026 and asks teams to use creativity and entrepreneurial thinking to grow their initial investment while raising money for the charity.
A booklet of ideas has been produced to help spark inspiration, and applications are now open.
Junior Achievement CEO Sue Cook said the challenge aims to show “what can happen when you combine a small amount of funding with a big idea”, encouraging teams to try something new and support the charity’s work with young people.
Zurich International Life CEO Robert Hartnett said the company was pleased to continue its long‑standing support, highlighting recent collaborations including the Debate Mate mentoring initiative and backing for the charity’s Just the Job project.
The challenge is open to all ages, though under‑18s must take part with a responsible adult. Places are limited to 40 teams, with four £100 prizes available for Think Big Champion, Best Fundraising Idea, Social Media Star and Best Community Engagement.
Junior Achievement said the challenge offers a chance to have fun, test entrepreneurial skills and make a positive impact across the island.
