The Mama Hub is partnering with Victoria House Nursery to host a practical potty‑training session for island parents next month.
‘Ready, Steady, Potty’ takes place on Saturday, October 3 and will offer clear, easy‑to‑follow guidance on when to start potty training, what to expect and how to approach the process in a way that suits each child and family.
The session will be led by early years educator Vanessa Champion, Head of Quality and Environment at Victoria House Nursery, who will share evidence‑informed advice drawn from her experience supporting young children through this stage of development.
The event has been created in response to growing concern that some children are starting school without being fully potty trained.
Mama Hub founders Hayley Garrett and Vanessa Egisto said they wanted to provide a supportive, judgement‑free space where parents can ask questions and gain confidence.
Victoria House Nursery owner Alexander Nicholson said a calm, reassuring approach helps children build confidence, adding that early years educators play an important role in supporting families and recognising when extra help may be needed.
