Manx Breast Cancer Support Group and Mannin Cancers Support Group have said they are not affiliated with people currently raising outside shops on the island.
Fundraisers outside Tesco and other stores, representing an England-based charity, are asking shoppers to sign up for monthly direct debits of £15 to £35.
“They are not connected to either of our charities,” a spokesperson said.
“That is not the way we work. All money raised by us stays on our Island to provide better treatment and diagnosis for cancer sufferers here.”
The external fundraisers have stated they support a local cause, but details remain unclear.
