Charity Shop Raises £2m For Local Charities

A charity shop in Peel has raised over £2million for multiple charities on the Isle of Man since 2001.

Whilst many charity shops have a specific charity that they raise money for, Peel Charity Shop – Registered Charity 815 chooses to raise money for many local charities on the island.

His Excellency and Lady Lorimer visited the charity shop last week where they presented the donation cheques to charity representatives.

This wonderful contribution would not have been possible without the help of their dedicated group of volunteers who run the shop and the loyal supporters who donate goods to sell.

Government House congratulated all involved, it said: “Your efforts have been invaluable to so many people!

“Next time you are looking to buy something new, remember to stop by at your local charity shop first to see what you can find.”
